Call Center Commander: Insights, PC Gaming Adventures, and Life Lessons

Welcome to Call Center Commander: Gaming and Life Logs

Hello there! My name is Joseph Briones, but most people call me Otep—a nickname that's stuck with me for years and feels like a part of who I am.

This blog has been a long time coming, and I’m thrilled to finally kick it off. Before diving into what you can expect here, let me tell you a bit about myself. I’ve been in the call center industry since 2007, wearing many hats—customer service, technical support, chat support, and everything in between. It’s been a journey of growth, learning, and, let’s be honest, plenty of challenges.

But that’s not all I am. I’ve been a PC gamer since the mid-1990s, back when titles like Red Alert 2, Diablo, StarCraft, and Heroes of Might & Magic ruled the scene. Over the years, I’ve gravitated toward RPGs, RTS, and turn-based strategy games—XCOM 2 is a personal favorite! Gaming has always been more than just a hobby for me; it’s an escape, a passion, and a world where I feel at home.

Why This Blog?

To be honest, blogging wasn’t something I initially thought I’d dive into. But contributing to my sister Josie’s blog, LifeDIYJosie, got me thinking—why not create a space for my own stories? This year, 2024, has been a rollercoaster, and starting this blog felt like the right move.

At its core, this blog is my outlet—a place to express ideas, share lessons, and reflect on my journey. Sure, I wouldn’t mind earning a bit through AdSense (who wouldn’t?), but more than that, I want to connect with people. My blog isn’t about sticking to one niche; it’s about exploring the many facets of life that make me, well, me.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Call Center Insights: From applying for a job to thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • PC Gaming Adventures: Why I love gaming, what I’m playing, and reviews of my favorite titles.
  • Work-From-Home Tips: My transition to remote work and how I make it work.
  • Life Lessons & Recipes: As someone who lives alone, cooking has become both a necessity and a creative outlet. I might share a recipe or two along the way.

My target audience? That’s a bit tricky. I’m not writing with just one group in mind. If you’re a gamer, a call center employee, a remote worker, or just someone curious about life’s ups and downs, you might find something here for you. And if you don’t fit into any of those categories but still want to stick around, you’re absolutely welcome too!

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning of my blogging journey. I’ll be sharing my thoughts, stories, and maybe even a few rants (let’s be real—it happens). My hope is to create something relatable, helpful, and maybe even inspiring.

A special shoutout to my sister, Josie, for being my inspiration and cheerleader in this venture. Her blog, LifeDIYJosie, has shown me what’s possible, and I’m excited to take this leap into the blogging world.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my very first post. If you’re curious about what’s coming next, stay tuned—it’s going to be an interesting ride!
